The Thuringian innovation manufacturer HM Heizkörper GmbH Heating Technology – in close cooperation with research institutes, installers and the trade – has taken up the cause of supporting property owners of all sizes in connection with the ‘heating turnaround’. “The signals from politicians have contributed to a noticeable sense of uncertainty. This is by no means due to a lack of environmental awareness in either the private or commercial real estate sector. On the one hand, the uncertainty results from a lack of transparency regarding the ‘obligation and optional extra’ when retrofitting your own heating system. On the other hand, the impression has been established that heat pumps, for example, only work in combination with underfloor heating systems that are expensive to retrofit – whereby the corresponding installation ‘feels’ close to a core refurbishment,” says Fabian Hoppe, Managing Director of HM Heizkörper, summarizing the current situation.

Against this background, the following aspects (among others) are particularly important for HM and for all heating engineers who are in daily contact with house and apartment owners:
- The energy efficiency impact of classic panel radiators is generally underestimated. Significant savings are possible simply by choosing the right radiator.
- Modern radiators can be connected to all heat sources. A gradual changeover is absolutely possible in view of the heating transition and your own financial possibilities. For example, a modern radiator can initially be connected to existing energy sources (gas, oil, district heating). The household already benefits from more efficient use of heat. The energy source can be changed later at any time. In combination with (e.g.) a heat pump, efficiency and sustainability are increased even further.
- Large construction sites (keyword ‘core renovations’) are not necessary for upgrading with modern radiators. Instead, they can be fitted quickly and easily by installers.
