Innovative solutions for the energy transition - without a major construction site

Our new THEMA NT heat pump radiators are the answer to the increasing demand for innovative heating products in order to successfully meet the challenges of the energy transition. These low-temperature (LT) radiators were developed to harmonize seamlessly with modern, energy-efficient heating systems in the low-temperature range. These include heat pumps and solar thermal systems in particular. But you can also easily combine our NT technology with existing oil or gas condensing boilers. This flexibility to use lower flow temperatures with different heat generators is the key to minimizing energy consumption and reducing CO2 emissions.

Older heating systems work with high flow temperatures of around 55 – 60 °C, which are delivered to conventional radiators. The heated air rises by itself, creating a natural air flow. At lower flow temperatures, this air flow must be generated artificially in order to heat the room air effectively. Our NT radiators achieve this by using fans on the underside that are mounted out of sight.

If you switch to a different heat generation system, our new NT radiators can replace the previous models on the same connection without any time-consuming work on the existing pipe systems.

The fans are controlled fully automatically via a sensor in the radiator. This detects whether heat is required in the room. When required, the thermostatic head opens and directs hot water through the radiator. The control automatically switches to “Boost” mode to heat up the room air quickly. After about 10 minutes, the fan speed automatically switches to almost silent “Comfort” mode. This mode remains active until the heat supply via the thermostatic head is reduced. This ensures pleasant and noiseless heating of living spaces.

The temperature is controlled in the classic way using a conventional thermostatic head, regardless of manufacturer or operating mode (manual or digital). The fan unit integrated in the radiator is controlled independently of the thermostatic head or the heat generator. No complex wiring or linking is necessary. Alternatively, the user can also bypass the automatic mode via the control unit and manually select between “Boost”, “Comfort” or “Off”. An LED display shows the selected mode in color – child’s play and user-friendly.

The “Comfort” mode is the ideal setting for permanent, energy-efficient heating with low power consumption and virtually silent operation. The fan and controller consume less than 20 watts per hour, and the fans operate at a quiet 25 dB(A).

All components were developed directly at HM and are perfectly matched to the design of our elegant radiators. Durability and safety are our top priorities: the ball-bearing fans are protected against tampering, and the splash-proof control unit has been designed exclusively with low-voltage components.
